FILM | 'War of the Planet of the Apes' in cinemas now
Our favourite intelligent and genetically enhanced apes are back. After two films, you would think by now apes and humans would put their differences aside and hug it out, but the war between the two species still continues...
In the third instalment of the 'Planet of the Apes' reboot series, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a confrontation with an army of humans led by a merciless colonel (Woody Harrelson) over the control of Earth.
Top notch performances from the cast in this film. Serkis stands out as the leader of the ape tribe, delivering a character-driven performance. A strong supporting cast featuring a solid performance from Harrelson as the film’s villain makes 'War of the Planet of the Apes' a true cinematic experience.
Director Matt Reeves presents an awesome follow up to 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'; his direction is superb, guiding remarkable performances from his motion-captured ape cast along with the human cast.
The production design, cinematography and editing are terrific. Fantastic action, great story and impressive special effects make 'War for the Planet of the Apes' a worthy successor.
An entertaining blockbuster to go ape for! 'War for the Planet of the Apes' is one of the best dramatic sequels we've seen in a while - better than the first two films, and with more action and tension between the two species.
This latest instalment of the franchise won’t disappoint new or long-time fans.
