Channing Tatum & Daniel Craig lead a stellar cast in 'Logan Lucky'

Four years since announcing his retirement from film, director Steven Soderbergh is back behind the camera.

'Logan Lucky' - Soderbergh’s first film since the 2013 HBO movie 'Behind the Candelabra', is a return to the heist genre.

The crime caper follows siblings Jimmy (Channing Tatum), Clyde (Adam Driver) and Mellie Logan (Riley Keough) as they attempt to steal money from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. Jimmy also recruits demolition expert Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) to help pull off the heist.

'Logan Lucky' features a perfectly cast and stellar ensemble of actors. Tatum takes lead as down on his luck and brains behind the scheming Jimmy. He is superb whilst bringing humour and likeability to the role, and being easy to relate to.

Craig's Joe is hilarious and is a stand-out in the film. Great performances from supporting cast Driver and Keough help hold the audience's interest throughout.

Like his previous heist films (the 'Ocean's' trilogy), Soderbergh delivers a fun and entertaining caper for audiences to enjoy. Soderbergh’s direction is excellent with his well-shot cinematography and quick paced editing. Rebecca Blunt's script is smart, witty and brilliantly written. Added to that, the costumes and productions design is remarkable, creating an anti-glam of 'Ocean’s Eleven'.

'Logan Lucky' is one of the best heist films to hit the big screen in years. It is an original and unpredictable film that’s enjoyable to watch start-to-finish with a well-selected ensemble cast.

A must see for Soderbergh fans.
