'Pirates of the Caribbean' - a film series based upon a RIDE (of all things) is the eleventh highest grossing film series of all time!
That may sound crazy, but when you take into consideration the all-star cast (Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush to name but a few) and the release of the fifth film, 'Dead Men Tell No Tale', due in cinemas this month, you begin to understand.
To coincide with the release of the fifth instalment, Funko has released images of the newest wave of Pops. Jack Sparrow, The Ghost of Will Turner, Captain Salazar, an all Gold Hot Topic exclusive version of Jack Sparrow and a very intriguing Chase version of Captain Salazar, all make for an exceptional wave.
The detail on Captain Jack is phenomenal. Funko has managed to give the Pop! vinyl some realistic 'age', much like Johnny Depp's character (the darkness around his tired looking eyes gives it some real depth).
Even the Will Turner Pop! looks just Orlando Bloom! Who would have thought they could nail such a feature? The Chase will no doubt be tricky to get a hold of, but it is after all, all about the thrill of the hunt.
'Dead Men Tell No Tale' hits cinemas on May 26th, with the Pops! to be released in June.
