'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' Funko Pop! Vinyl
Welcome to the very first article based upon the ubiquitous (and some might say pesky) Funko Pop! Vinyl figures!
Love them or hate them, there is no escaping these figures. The army of collectors is huge. The sales figures are near incalculable, and there is no sign of them stopping production anytime soon. So why not embrace the scene with open arms and take a look at what the Washington-based company has to offer us over the next coming year, and beyond?
In a few months time, we will once again all be taken back to the glorious 1990s with a reboot of everyone’s favourite gang of multi-coloured MMA experts, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!
The ‘wave one’ collection (of which we would expect will be added to later) consists of the Black, Blue, Pink, Red and Yellow Rangers, with Hot Topic also getting an exclusive in the form of Rita. Additional figures will be interesting, as you can't have a complete set of Funko Pop! Vinyl figures without a legion of bad guys to battle, right?
The suits have been upgraded, and while Rita looks a little different, regardless of the upcoming film’s success, you can rest assured knowing that Funko has given them the full Pop! treatment.
Rita and the Red Ranger look superb, but there's just something about the rest that doesn't quite hit the mark; this is in no way a sculpting issue, but many would label it a general design flaw when it comes to the Rangers themselves.
